Miriam Illions Coaching: Finding inner power
Overview
A difficult but triumphant personal journey led Miriam to become a coach and counsellor over the course of the last few years, doing coaching sessions with individuals and groups, soon to be offering courses as well. She was looking to create a personal brand that would resonate with clients and the website / logo / copy to express it. Visit the new site at MiriamIllions.com.

The brand
Miriam helps people look inside themselves to build self-acceptance and self-trust, via relatively new methods that starkly differ from conventional therapy. We started our work together with some word association and copywriting exercises to get a feeling for how to best express the unique power of the work she was doing.
Graphic identity elements
I developed a color scheme with Miriam’s personal journey in mind - from a tumultous childhood through a successful career and later a psychedelic ayahuasca journey in Brazil. We worked from a dream vision that she shared with me: all the colors in the spectrum of the rainbow, flowing out from her hair as she flew across the sky. The complete spectrum of colors we interpreted to represent a core principle of self healing work: that all of the emotions and fears within you can set you free when you learn to accept them.
We used a line drawing of an opening heart as metaphor for the process that a client will go through during self healing work: opening into a more multifaceted existence, where all facets are accepted, as they are.
Typography was kept simple and clean to show off the pops of color.
Content strategy
Together we created a web presence that would showcase her unique perspective and introduce clients to the sometimes unexpected benefits of her service. Since many people today search for ways to “go inward” or do personal development work, but simply don’t know how to do it, we chose to create a section where Miriam shares free advice and practical resources. Each resource page focuses on a specific issue (e.g. anxiety, imposter syndrome etc.) and includes practical exercises for self healing in a short, easy-to-understand format. Social templates were also designed to facilitate the sharing of this free, easy to digest content.
