7 Lessons in innovation from the Wright Brothers

When Wilbur and Orville Wright came on the scene, people had already been trying for centuries to build a flying machine that worked.

How did these self-taught bicycle makers from Ohio succeed where no one else had?

The story of their lives reads like a blueprint for so many innovators later on, and holds a ton of lessons for us to learn from, whenever we think about how to create new technology and make a real difference through our efforts.

I have been loving David McCollough’s new book ‘The Wright Brothers’ - I’m surprised at just how contemporary this family was, even though they lived over a century ago. If you’re not up for a good long read, below are 7 practical takeaways I found useful
